Quartz countertops are one of the most beautiful and maintenance-free ways to bring elegance to your kitchen.

Searching for a wider variety of colors to complement your style?

Thinking about upgrading to a strong, stain-resistant countertop surface that will handle anything that goes on in your busy kitchen - and still look great?

Quartz is all of the above.

Although Quartz countertops are manufactured by machines, the extra steps that go into the process of making this material are what turns it into something extraordinary.

A quartz countertop is usually made of about 93% quartzite (a natural type of stone) that is machine-bonded permanently with resin and pigments.

The result? Tough surfaces with the look of natural stone, and 5 to 7 times stronger than granite. Interested in how to use this surface in your kitchen? We’ll answer some of the most common questions we get.

Is Quartz as Good as Granite for Kitchens?

It’s true that avid cooks love granite countertops and work surfaces for all the different cooking techniques and tools used. The cool surface is so smooth and pleasant to work on, and gives you great results.

You’ll be glad to know that quartz, as an engineered stone product, has the same qualities. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your old laminate countertops, and have been dreaming about having kitchen that matches your cooking skills - the easy care and wide color range of quartz countertops could be perfect for your custom kitchen.

Are Quartz Countertops Affordable?

It may be surprising, but quartz can be installed for a price comparable to granite countertops. Many customers don’t even consider quartz, and think that they must replace laminate countertops with a similar material or granite.

How is the Color Selection for Quartz?

Quartz countertops have a much wider range of colors than granite, due to their manufacturing process by man and machines.

If you’re looking for a particular color or look, you may find that the selections available to you in quartz countertops can offer the durability you’re looking for, with a color or shade that’s just perfect for your kitchen.

How Do I Take Care of Quartz Countertops?

One of the many wonderful qualities of Quartz countertops is their easy maintenance. The sealed surface resists stains, acids, and can be cleaned with regular household cleaners.

You’ll quickly find out that the surface is easy to wipe down and that the material withstands all kinds of kitchen traffic and activities. Hot water and a sponge will take care of most messes. Don’t use anything too abrasive - if you need to do any major cleaning, you can use a quartz or granite cleaner - after all, quartz countertops are mostly natural stone in composition.

Do I Need to Seal Quartz Countertops?

No. The manufacturing process that bonds the materials together also renders the surface non-porous and pre-sealed. You won’t have to worry about sealing it regularly, as you would need to with a granite countertop.

Do Quartz Countertops Have Seams?

There will be seams where two pieces are joined. However, the consistency of the quartz pattern will make matching the pieces easy for a skilled fabricator.

Ideally, there would never be seams. However, there are limitations on how large a single piece of quartz can be for shipping and installation.

When fabricating your countertop, we take into account everything from corners, islands, sink placement, cooktops, and customer preferences to achieve a seamless look.

We take care to match patterns, make seams practically invisible, and deliver a finished product that will look terrific in your kitchen.
